Bear- The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing to investigate a fatal hit and run crash involving a pedestrian and are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect’s vehicle.
The incident occurred on March 10, 2019 at approximately 8:29 p.m., when an unknown vehicle was traveling eastbound on Pulaski Highway (US 40). A pedestrian was walking eastbound on US 40 in the area of the off-ramp from northbound DE Rt. 1. The victim was subsequently struck by the vehicle, which did not remain at the scene. The victim remained in the right lane of US 40 when he was struck by a second vehicle, a 2015 Nissan Altima. The victim was also struck by other subsequent vehicles that did not remain on the scene.
The victim, 34-year-old Ramanpreet Suri of Wilmington, DE was not wearing reflective clothing or carrying an illumination device. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A photograph of the suspect’s vehicle was obtained and it appears to be an unknown make and model silver in color sedan. The vehicle would have undetermined front end damage.
