Delaware/Pennsylvania– As a result of a joint investigation between the Delaware State Police, Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department (Pennsylvania) and the FBI, Thomas Thompson, 57, of Philadelphia, was identified as the suspect responsible for three bank robberies that took place in Delaware and Pennsylvania, over a five day period in mid-September.
On Friday, September 28, 2018 Thompson was taken in to custody by the FBI at his place of residence in the 1500 block of West Chester Pike, Westtown, PA. All three agencies then executed search warrants that had been issued for Thompson’s residence and his vehicle. As a result of the searches evidence was recovered further linking Thompson to all three robberies.
Thompson was remanded to Federal custody with the investigation being assumed by the FBI for the purpose of Federal prosecution in the following three robberies:
