Traffic Unit

With an overall mission to reduce motor vehicle collisions, the Traffic Operations Section (TOS) performs an array of diverse functions. The section personnel coordinate Divisional traffic enforcement while conducting statewide record-keeping. The section also provides proactive and reactive enforcement via our Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit (CVEU).

Request Crash Report

To request a crash report, please mail your request to:

Please include a copy of your collision information exchange form, in addition to your payment. The fee for a standard collision report is $25.00, and the fee for a fatal collision report is $60.00. Payment can be in the form of a check or money order, made payable to the Delaware State Police.

Requests must be made by mail. We cannot honor walk-in requests for crash reports.

Report Unsafe or Overweight Trucks

To report tips on oversize/overweight trucks please call (302) 378-5230. Please provide, if known, the name of the trucking company, description of the truck, the location of the offense, and the nature of the complaint against the truck.
