Troopers Investigate Robbery of Anemoni Jewelers, Hockessin

Hockessin, DE- Delaware State Police are investigating the robbery of an area jewelry store which occurred Tuesday afternoon.

The preliminary investigation revealed the incident occurred at approximately 3:50 p.m., Tuesday, June 21, 2016, as two male suspects, armed with unknown type handguns, entered the Anemoni Jewelers located at 6288 Limestone Road, Hockessin. The suspects approached a male and female employee at the counter and demanded money. The suspects then took both employees into the rear of the business where another female employee was located and ordered them to lay on the floor. Both suspects returned to the front of the store and removed an undisclosed amount of jewelry after breaking a glass display case. The suspects fled from the store after taking a cell phone, wallet, jewelry and purses from the employees. The employees were not injured.

The first suspect fled from the jewelry store and confronted a Starbucks customer, 53 year old female, waiting in the drive-thru of Starbucks located at 6280 Limestone Road, Hockessin, behind the jewelry store. The suspect approached her vehicle pointed a handgun at her and yelled in her direction however, she could not hear the suspect as her window was rolled up. The second suspect then ran out of the business towards the north side of the building and this suspect followed behind him. The customer was not injured.

The both suspects were described as black males approximately 5’08” – 5’10” tall, 160-180 lbs., with their faces covered. No further physical or clothing description is available at this time. Both armed with unknown type handguns.

This incident remains under investigation by the Delaware State Police. No video surveillance photos are available to be released at this time.
