**Traffic Advisory** Serious Crash Investigated South of Georgetown

Georgetown, Delaware – The Delaware State Police are currently on the scene of a serious crash involving a passenger car and Box truck.

Preliminary investigation has determined a serious personal injury crash occurred today, July 1, 2019, at approximately 10:23 a.m. on northbound DuPont Boulevard (U.S. 113) northwest of Governor Stockley Road (C.R. 432) south of Georgetown. A 21-year-old male of Georgetown was operating a 2011 Nissan Altima and failed to yield right of way as he traveled eastbound crossing over U.S. 113 northbound and a Box truck operated by a 51-year-old male of Maryland struck his vehicle and a utility pole was struck.

The driver of the Nissan was transported by the Delaware State Police Helicopter to the Beebe Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of Box Truck was transported by EMS to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Delmarva Power is currently at the scene working on the utility pole.

U.S. 113 in the area of the crash is shut down and traffic is being diverted to East Piney Grove Road (C.R. 329)  Commuters should expect delays in the area and find alternate routes of travel.

Further details will be released upon the conclusion of the investigation.
