Troopers Investigating Armed Robbery – Newark

Newark (19702)- The Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery of a Newark tobacco store that occurred last evening.

The incident occurred on March 8, 2019 at approximately 8:28 p.m., at the Joes Tobacco Superstore located at 3124 Pulaski Highway.  The suspect entered the business, grabbed an employee at gunpoint and demanded money from the cash register.  There was a second employee behind the checkout counter at this time, who complied with the suspect’s demands and opened the cash register.  The suspect removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the register and fled the business in an unknown direction.  The employees were not injured as a result of this incident.

The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 5’5” to 5’ 8” tall, 150-160 lbs., wearing dark colored clothing and a dark colored face covering.
