Camden – The Delaware State Police Troop 3 Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing to investigate a single vehicle crash that occurred early Saturday morning which has claimed the life of a Hartly man.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:57 a.m., Saturday, November 24, 2018 on Willow Grove Rd. just west of Steeles Ridge Rd., Camden-Wyoming. A 2002 Chevy Trailblazer operated by William E. Clough, 35, of Hartly was traveling westbound on Willow Grove Rd., at an apparent high rate of speed, when he lost control on a curve at which time the vehicle began spinning. The Chevy continued to spin and traveled off the north side of the road before overturning, causing Clough to be ejected from the vehicle.

Clough was transported to Kent General Hospital with life threatening injuries but ultimately succumbed to those injuries and was pronounced deceased on Sunday, November 25.

Clough was not seat belted at the time of the crash, speed and impairment are being considered as contributing factors.

Willow Grove Rd. was closed for approximately 3 hours while the scene was investigated and cleared.
