Newark (19711) – The Delaware State Police are investigating a robbery that took place in the parking lot of the Polly Drummond Shopping Center on Wednesday night.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:59 p.m., Wednesday, September 26, 2018 in the parking lot, outside of Samson’s Country Maid Deli, located at 14 Polly Drummond Shopping Center, Newark. An employee of the business had just returned to his vehicle which was parked in the lot, after closing the business for the night. As he sat in his vehicle, prior to driving off, he was approached by two suspects. The first suspect grabbed the victim as he sat in the drivers seat and demanded money, while the second suspect entered the vehicle through the passenger side front door. Once inside the vehicle Suspect #2 rifled through multiple bags that were on the front seat taking one of them. Suspect #1 made off with the victim’s wallet, cell-phone and car keys. Both suspects then entered in to a light colored vehicle and fled onto Linden Hill Rd. The victim was not injured as a result of the incident.
The suspects were described as follows:
Suspect #1: Black male, 25-35 years of age, thin build, wearing all dark clothing to include a face covering.
Suspect #2:Black male, 25-35 years of age, thin build, wearing all white clothing and a dark covering over his face.
