18 young men and women from across the State, that endured a weeklong training regimen which parallels much of what a Delaware State Trooper would undergo while attending the State Police Training Academy, were awarded their graduation certificates. This is the 47th year for Trooper Youth Week and without the sponsorship of the Delaware American Legion the program could not be possible.
In addition to the rigors of the daily physical fitness schedule, the cadets attended classes that ranged from crash investigation to evidence detection and fraud investigation. During the entire week the cadets took up residence at the academy to give them a better understanding about the profession of law enforcement and what it takes to become a police officer.
