Claymont/N. Wilmington (19803) – Troopers are investigating a pair of robberies in the North Wilmington and Claymont areas that occurred overnight.

The first incident occurred at approximately 10:00 p.m., Monday November 20, 2017 at the McDonald’s located at 2702 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, when a male subject entered the restaurant and confronted employees. The suspect was armed with an unknown type handgun and demanded money.  The clerks complied and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash before the suspect fled out of the business and ran northbound.  The store employees were not injured in the incident.

The suspect was described as a black male, 20-30 years of age, 5’05-5’09” tall, wearing a light color hooded sweatshirt, jeans, and had a mask covering his face (no further physical or clothing description).  He was armed with an unknown type handgun.

The second incident occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m., Tuesday November 21, 2017 at the CVS located at 4020 Concord Pike, North Wilmington, when a male subject entered the store and confronted a store employee. The suspect was armed with an unknown type handgun and demanded money.  The clerk complied and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash before the suspect fled out of the store.  The employee was not injured.

The suspect was described as a black male, 30-35 years of age, 5’08-5’09” tall, 160-180 lbs., wearing a hooded sweatshirt, jeans, and had a mask covering his face (no further physical or clothing description).  He was armed with an unknown type handgun.

No surveillance photos are available in either incident.
