Troopers Conducting Investigation into Missing Swimmer – Update #2

Wilmington – The Delaware State Police Major Crimes Unit continues their investigation into a missing Wilmington man after the body of a male subject was located this afternoon.

The discovery of the body occurred this afternoon. Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at approximately 4:00 p.m. as subjects searching for Miguel Angel Del Valle, observed an object floating in the water in the area of the Delaware Northern Greenway Trail near N. Park Drive. Officers from the DNREC Natural Resources Police; State Parks Enforcement were then contacted and responded to the scene. They then located and pulled a male body from the water. The body was turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Sciences where an autopsy will be performed to determine the identity of the male subject as well as the cause and manner of death.

This incident remains under investigation by the Delaware State Police. If anyone has any information in reference to this incident they are asked to contact the Major Crimes Unit at Troop 2 at 302-365-8567.
