State Police Arrest Dover Teen Following a Shots Fired Incident in Dover

Delaware State Police have arrested a 16-year-old male from Dover, Delaware, for felony gun offenses following a shots fired incident that occurred early Wednesday morning in Dover.

On September 30, 2026, at approximately 1:00 a.m., a trooper was on foot patrol on Generals Way in Generals Green in Dover and heard a gunshot. When additional troopers arrived, they saw a male, later identified as the 16-year-old suspect, on an electric bicycle and tried to pull it over, but he failed to stop. While fleeing, the teen tried to ride over a curb but fell off the electric bicycle. While being taken into custody, a polymer 9mm handgun with no serial number, fell out of the suspect’s waistband.

The teen was taken to Troop 3, where he was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by the Justice of the Peace, and released on his own recognizance to a parent/guardian.

  • Possession or Control of a Firearm by Person Under 21 (Felony)
  • Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon A Firearm (Felony)
  • Possession of Untraceable Firearm (Felony)
