State Police Arrest Wilmington Man for 5th Offense DUI in Dover

The Delaware State Police arrested 67-year-old Kenny Jervey, from Wilmington, Delaware, on a 5th offense driving under the influence charge and related offenses following a traffic stop Wednesday afternoon in Dover.

On September 23, 2026, at approximately 2:00 p.m., the 9-1-1 center alerted troopers after a concerned motorist reported a Volvo driving erratically while traveling southbound on Route 1 near Smyrna. A Trooper from the Delaware State Police Highway Safety Unit was patrolling the area and located the Volvo on Scarborough Road after it exited Route 1. The trooper saw traffic violations and stopped the vehicle.

During the stop, the trooper identified the driver as Jervey and observed signs of impairment. Jervey refused to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and was subsequently taken into custody without incident. A computer check revealed that Jervey’s driver’s license was suspended and that he had four prior DUI convictions.

Jervey was taken to Troop 9 where the trooper obtained and executed a search warrant for a blood sample. Jervey was charged with the below listed offenses, arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court, and released on a $5,102 unsecured bond.
