Newark- Delaware State Police are currently investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle that occurred this afternoon.

The initial investigation has determined that the crash occurred at approximately 3:50 p.m. today, Saturday, June 24, 2017, at the intersection of Old Baltimore Pike and Albe Drive, and involves a passenger car and a motorcycle.

As a result of the crash, one subject has been declared dead at the scene. It is unknown if there were any other injuries at this time.

Both directions of Old Baltimore Pike as well as Albe Drive have been closed and commuters are asked to find alternate routes of travel.

The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is enroute to the scene and will assume the investigation. More details will be released at the conclusion of the investigation.
