State Police Investigating Shots Fired Incident in Wilmington

The Delaware State Police is investigating a shots fired incident that occurred late Thursday night in Wilmington.
On April 16, 2026, at approximately 11:40 p.m., troopers responded to the 4800 block of Washington Street Extension, in Wilmington, for a report of gunfire. When troopers arrived, they located several spent shell casings in the area. No injuries or property damage were reported.
The Delaware State Police Troop 2 Criminal Investigations Unit continues to investigate this crime. Detectives ask anyone with information relevant to the case to contact Detective B. Timmons at (302) 365-8434. Information may also be provided by sending a private Facebook message to the Delaware State Police or contacting Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333.
