The Delaware State Police have arrested 44-year-old Jose Sanchez of Lincoln, Delaware, for 5th offense DUI, terroristic threatening and related offenses, after he threatened a co-worker in Georgetown.
On February 9, 2026, at approximately 9:45 a.m., troopers responded to Donovan’s Salvage Works, located at 20269 Donovan’s Road in Georgetown, for a report of a terroristic threatening. When troopers arrived, they learned that the suspect, identified as Jose Sanchez, was involved in an argument with a co-worker. During the argument, Sanchez threatened to leave, return with a gun, and kill the co-worker. Troopers spoke to Sanchez on the phone and learned that his car had broken down on Seashore Highway in Georgetown. Troopers located Sanchez in his car on Seashore Highway and when they spoke to him, he showed multiple signs of impairment. Sanchez refused Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, and he was taken into custody without incident. During an inventory search of Sanchez’s car, troopers found a sword concealed under clothing on the front seat.
A computer check showed that Sanchez had four prior DUI related convictions and a revoked driver’s license.
Sanchez was arrested and taken to Troop 4, where he was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $6,700 secured bond.
