State Police Investigating Gas Station Robbery

The Delaware State Police are investigating a gas station robbery that took place in Wilmington last night.

On August 2, 2023, at approximately 9:24 p.m., troopers responded to Star Gas & Diesel located at 3927 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, for a report of a robbery. Troopers contacted a 55-year-old employee and learned that an unknown white male suspect displayed a knife and demanded the victim open the cash registers. The victim complied, and the suspect fled from the gas station on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. Responding troopers attempted to find the suspect in the surrounding area but were unable to locate him.

The 55-year-old victim was not injured. The suspect is described as a white male. Surveillance images and video are not yet available.

The Troop 2 Robbery Unit is investigating this incident. Detectives are asking for anyone with information regarding this case to contact Detective J. Dempsey by calling 302-365-8472.
