Troopers Seek Public’s Assistance Locating Suspect Wanted for Felony Assault

Delaware State Police are seeking the public’s assistance locating Edward Stewart, 33, of Bridgeville, Delaware.

Stewart is wanted in connection with a domestic-related shooting of a 36-year-old woman and firing a weapon in the presence of two children during an altercation on Beach Highway, east of Shawnee Road in Greenwood, at approximately 10:00 a.m., on June 18, 2023. Stewart has an active warrant for the following crimes:

  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited (Felony)
  • Assault Second Degree (Felony)
  • Reckless Endangering First Degree (Felony)- 3 counts
  • Aggravated Menacing (Felony)
  • Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Felony)- 2 counts

Attempts to find Stewart have been unsuccessful. He is described as a black male, standing approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 220 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. Troopers are asking for the community’s assistance in locating him.

Delaware State Police Troop 4 Criminal Investigations Unit is still investigating this shooting. Anyone with information regarding Stewart’s whereabouts is asked to contact Detective H.
