Superintendent Colonel Melissa Zebley
Odessa- Delaware State Police Troop 9 will be holding a Community Café on Thursday, November 04, 2021. The event will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Troop 9 parking lot located at 414 Main Street, Odessa, DE. The Community Café will host Troop 9 Administration, the Community Outreach Officer, and a car seat technician from the Office of Highway Safety to meet and interact with members of the public. In addition this event will highlight checking and properly installing child car seats. Community Café is often referred to as “Coffee with a Cop” in other police agencies and is being held in an effort to build a stronger relationship between the Delaware State Police and the communities that we so proudly serve.
“The Delaware Office of Highway Safety is pleased to support Car Seats, coffee and conversation at Troop 9 as an opportunity to connect with local caregivers, providing car seat checks and education. Four out of every five car seats in Delaware are installed incorrectly. Events such as this one are a great way to let caregivers know that free resources are available to help them not feel overwhelmed in regards to car seat installation and support best practices for children to ride safely.”
