Delaware State Police Investigating Gas Station Shooting- Wilmington

Wilmington– The Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting at a Wilmington area gas station that occurred this morning and left one man dead.

The incident was reported at approximately 6:14 a.m., Thursday, August 26, 2021, when troopers responded to the Sunoco gas station located at 1950 Maryland Avenue, Wilmington, for a report of a subject shot. Upon their arrival, a 34-year-old male victim was located outside the front of the convenience store with apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Identification of the victim is pending notification to the next of kin.

Investigation determined two unknown males approached the victim in front of the convenience store and opened fire. There is currently no description of the suspects at this time.

This incident is being investigated by Delaware State Police Homicide Unit.
