Newark – The Delaware State Police are investigating the robbery of a Newark area gas station that occurred this morning.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:50 a.m., Saturday, August 7, 2021, at the Shell gas station, located at 2410 Pulaski Highway, Newark, when troopers responded to a knife point robbery. Investigation determined a male suspect entered the store and confronted a male employee behind the sales counter. The suspect displayed a knife and demanded money from the register. The employee complied with demands and the suspect fled out of the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect entered a white sedan and fled the parking lot. The employee was not injured as a result of the incident.

The suspect was described as a white male approximately 20-25 years old, 6’0” tall, 170 lbs., wearing all dark clothing.
