Update – State Police Seek Public’s Assistance Locating Suspect State Police Investigating Strong Arm Robbery in New Castle

Delaware State Police wanted flyer featuring a photo of Jarvis Sturgis. The flyer asks anyone who knows his whereabouts to call 9-1-1 or DSP Troop 2 at (302) 834-2620, or submit a tip to Delaware Crime Stoppers.

The Delaware State Police is seeking the public’s assistance with locating Jarvis Sturgis, of Wilmington, Delaware, who is wanted in connection with a strong-arm robbery that occurred Tuesday in New Castle.

On September 15, 2026, at approximately 9:20 p.m., troopers responded to the 3000 block of New Castle Avenue for a reported robbery. The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was waiting at a bus stop when a male suspect approached and demanded the victim’s personal property. The suspect then struck the victim and forcefully took the victim’s property before fleeing the area.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Delaware State Police Criminal Investigations Unit took over the case. Through investigative efforts, detectives identified Sturgis as the suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest. Upon is arrest, he will be charged with the felony offense of robbery second degree.
