State Police Investigating Shooting in Dover

The Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Monday morning in Dover.

On September 7, 2026, at approximately 1:20 a.m., police responded to Bayhealth Kent Campus for a 23-year-old man who was being treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The preliminary investigation revealed that an unknown suspect in an unknown vehicle, fired shots at a residence on the 200 block of South Governor’s Boulevard in Capitol Park. The victim was struck by gunfire and taken to the hospital by private vehicle.

Delaware State Police Troop 3 Criminal Investigations Unit continues to investigate this incident. Detectives are asking anyone with relevant information about the case to contact Detective S. O’Leary by calling (302) 698-8527. Information may also be provided by sending a private Facebook message to the Delaware State Police or contacting Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333.
