*Update – Suspect in Custody* State Police Investigating Homicide in Seaford

The Delaware State Police continue to investigate the homicide that occurred in Seaford last week.

On May 27, 2026, 19-year-old Darrin West of Seaford, Delaware, was taken into custody in Maryland with assistance from the Salisbury Police Department and the Maryland State Police. West was held in Maryland pending extradition.

On June 4, 2026, West was extradited to Delaware and charged with the crimes listed below.  He was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to the Delaware Department of Correction on a $1,005,000 cash bond.

The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit continues to investigate this incident.  Detectives are asking anyone with information about this case to contact Detective B. McDerby at (302) 741-2821.
