State Police Investigating Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Lighthouse Road in Selbyville

The Delaware State Police is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred early Wednesday morning in Selbyville.
On May 20, 2026, at approximately 1:20 a.m., a Harley-Davidson Road King motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Lighthouse Road approaching the area of Fenwick Shoals Boulevard in Selbyville. For reasons currently under investigation, the motorcycle failed to negotiate a slight left curve and ran off the roadway, striking a concrete-and-metal safety barrier.
The motorcycle operator, a 56-year-old man from Frankford, Delaware, who was not wearing a helmet, was ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene.
The roadway was closed for approximately four hours during the initial investigation.
The crash remains under investigation by the Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit. Troopers ask anyone who witnessed or has information about the crash to contact Master Corporal R.
