The Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Saturday afternoon in Laurel.

On May 9, 2026, at approximately 3:20 p.m., troopers responded to Tidal Health – Nanticoke after a 19-year-old man arrived, by personal vehicle, with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Due to the nature of the incident, Delaware State Police Troop 4 Criminal Investigations Unit assumed the investigation. The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was shot in front of a residence by an unknown suspect on Portsville Road near Randall Street in Laurel.

Further investigation revealed that the victim was driven to the hospital in a blue Mazda 3 by a man identified as 20-year-old Alexison Amisial, from Georgetown, Delaware. Troopers found the Mazda and Amisial at First Stop Gas Station, located at 114 West Street in Laurel. When troopers contacted Amisial, he was found to be concealing an untraceable gun in his waistband and was taken into custody without incident.

Amisial was arrested and taken to Troop 4, where he was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3, and released on a $3,500 unsecured bond.
