The Delaware State Police is investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a gas station Monday evening in New Castle.
On May 4, 2026, at approximately 7:30 p.m., troopers responded to the Shell gas station, located at 3001 New Castle Avenue, for a report of a robbery. The preliminary investigation revealed an unknown male suspect, armed with a knife, approached the clerk and demanded money from the cash register. The clerk complied and the suspect stole an undisclosed amount of money before driving away in a white Ford Taurus. No injuries were reported during the incident.

Troopers initially lost sight of the vehicle, however, the Ford was later found abandoned near Wilson Street and East 13th Street.
The suspect is described as a man, approximately 6’02” tall, wearing a brown sweatshirt, and dark colored pants.
