The Delaware State Police arrested 38-year-old Nicole Kenton, of Harrington, Delaware, and a 36-year-old man from Selbyville, Delaware, on drug-related offenses and driving under the influence following a traffic stop early Friday morning in Laurel.

On May 1, 2026, at approximately 2:00 a.m., a trooper patrolling Fire Tower Road, near Sycamore Road, conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Cruze after observing a moving violation. The trooper contacted the occupants and identified the driver as the 36-year-old man and the passenger as Nicole Kenton. During the encounter, the trooper saw drug paraphernalia in plain view inside the vehicle.

A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of additional drug paraphernalia belonging to both occupants. Troopers also recovered approximately 48 bags of suspected heroin and approximately 0.85 grams of suspected cocaine, which were determined to be in Kenton’s possession. The driver showed signs of impairment so both were taken into custody without further incident.

Kenton was taken to Troop 5 where she was charged with the below listed offenses, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11, and released on a $8,000 unsecured bond.
