State Police Arrest Felton Man for Stabbing Incident in Dover

The Delaware State Police have arrested 44-year-old Charles Murray, of Felton, Delaware, for felony assault and related offenses following a stabbing incident that occurred Sunday night at a Dover bar.
On May 3, 2026, at approximately 11:20 p.m., troopers responded to Touchdown Lounge, located at 1666 South DuPont Highway in Dover, for a report of a stabbing. When troopers arrived, they learned that a male victim had been stabbed by a male suspect, identified as Charles Murray, and both were taken to an area hospital. The preliminary investigation revealed that Murray accused the victim and the bartender of stealing his debit card before punching the victim inside the bar. After leaving the bar, the victim told his friend, who was seated in the driver’s seat of their vehicle, what had occurred with Murray. As they were speaking, Murray approached the driver’s side door. The friend exited the vehicle and engaged in a physical altercation with Murray. When the victim moved toward the two, Murray stabbed the victim multiple times.
Detectives responded to the hospital and learned the victim suffered critical injuries while Murray was not injured.
Murray was taken into custody without incident and taken to Troop 3. He was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $102,000 cash bond.
- Assault First Degree (Felony)
- Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon (Felony)
