The Delaware State Police are investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash that occurred last night in Harrington.
On March 12, 2026, at approximately 7:05 p.m., a Nissan Pathfinder was traveling eastbound on Carpenters Bridge Road east of Jackson Ditch Road. The preliminary investigation revealed that the Pathfinder failed to negotiate a slight curve, ran off the north side of the roadway, and struck a tree.
The driver, a 27-year-old woman from Frederica, was taken to an area hospital where she died. Her name is being withheld until her family is notified.
The roadway was closed for approximately three hours while the scene was investigated and cleared.
The investigation is still ongoing by the Delaware State Police Troop 3 Collision Reconstruction Unit. Troopers ask anyone who witnessed the crash or has any information to contact Master Corporal J.
