The Delaware State Police is investigating a robbery that occurred early Friday morning at a convenience store in New Castle.
On Friday, March 13, 2026, at approximately 5:00 a.m., troopers responded to the Wawa located at 1515 North Dupont Highway, in New Castle, for a report of a robbery. The preliminary investigation revealed an unknown male suspect entered the store, approached a clerk, and demanded money. When the clerk did not initially comply, the suspect walked behind the counter and continued demanding money while acting as if he was armed with a weapon. The clerk complied and the suspect stole and undisclosed amount of cash. The clerk was not injured. The suspect fled and entered a dark-colored SUV that was waiting on North Dupont Highway before leaving the area.
The Delaware State Police Troop 2 Criminal Investigations Unit continues to investigate this incident. Detectives ask anyone who witnessed or has information about this case to contact Detective J.
