The Delaware State Police is investigating an armed robbery that occurred Tuesday night at a smoke shop in Dover.
On January 27, 2026, at approximately 10:00 p.m., troopers were dispatched to the New York Smoke Shop, located at 3150 North Dupont Highway, in Dover, Delaware, for a reported robbery. The preliminary investigation revealed two male suspects, armed with hatchets, entered the business and demanded the clerk open the cash register. The suspects stole cash and various tobacco products before running away.
The suspects were described as wearing dark-colored clothing, face coverings, and gloves.
The Delaware State Police Troop 3 Criminal Investigations Unit continues to investigate this incident. Detectives ask anyone with information relevant to the investigation to contact Detective D.
