Delaware State Police Provide Guidance on Personal Property Left at Wilmington DMV

Date Posted: Tuesday, December 30th, 2025

new release

The Delaware State Police advises members of the public who left vehicles or other personal property at the Wilmington Division of Motor Vehicles during the December 23, 2025 incident, that arrangements are now being made for property retrieval.

Individuals who had vehicles, personal belongings, or other property left at the DMV, located at 2230 Hessler Boulevard in Wilmington, are asked to contact the Delaware State Police to coordinate retrieval.

To ensure the process is handled safely and efficiently, those seeking to recover property should contact Detective D. Grassi by email at daniel.grassi@delaware.gov. Additional instructions will be provided after contacting the Delaware State Police.

As the investigation into this line-of-duty death continues, portions of the property may still be restricted. The Delaware State Police appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as investigators continue their work.

If you or someone you know is a victim or witness of a crime or have lost a loved one to a sudden death and need assistance, the Delaware State Police Victim Services Unit / Delaware Victim Center is available to offer you support and resources 24 hours a day through a toll-free hotline at 1-800-VICTIM-1 (1-800-842-8461). You may also email the Victim Services Unit at DSP_VictimServicesMail@delaware.gov.
