The Delaware State Police is investigating a shots fired incident that occurred Friday night on I-95 in Wilmington.
On December 27, 2025, troopers were informed about a vehicle damaged by gunfire. The preliminary investigation revealed on December 26, 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m., a driver was traveling on I-95 southbound, in the area of Shipley Road, when the driver heard a loud noise. At the time, there was significant weather, and the driver did not initially see their vehicle was damaged. When the driver arrived at their destination, they discovered their vehicle was damaged and contacted police. Local law enforcement responded and saw damage and evidence consistent with the vehicle being shot. The driver was not injured during the incident and there was no suspect information available.
The Delaware State Police continues to investigate this incident. Troopers ask anyone who witnessed the incident, or has relevant information, to contact Master Corporal A. Hom at (302) 660-4314. Information may also be provided by contacting Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
