Superintendent Colonel William D. Crotty
Delaware State Police are investigating a home invasion that occurred on Tuesday in Seaford.
On Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m., troopers responded to a residence in the 25000 block of Rocky Road for a welfare check. The request was made by a concerned relative who had been unable to contact the homeowner.
When troopers arrived, they contacted the 74-year-old male resident who reported that he had been robbed the previous evening. The preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect had previously been at the residence earlier in the day. At approximately 6:00 p.m., the same suspect returned to the home accompanied by three additional male suspects. The four suspects forced their way into the residence, and one of them displayed a firearm.
Once inside, the suspects demanded money and other personal items. During the incident, one of the suspects struck the victim on the top of the head. The suspects then fled the residence on foot. The victim sustained minor injuries.
The suspects are described as four black males. Three of the suspects were wearing masks. No additional suspect description is available at this time.
Troop 4 Criminal Investigations Unit continues to investigate this incident. Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area or has information relevant to the case to contact Detective M. Aberman by calling (302) 752-3807. Information may also be provided by sending a private Facebook message to the Delaware State Police or contacting Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333.
