Troopers Arrest Dover Man for DUI and a Felony Gun Offense

Delaware State Police have arrested 42-year-old Donnel Eaddy of Dover, Delaware, for a felony gun offense, resisting arrest, and DUI following a traffic stop in Dover.
On December 12, 2025, at approximately 9:50 p.m., a trooper on patrol saw a gray Chevrolet Malibu traveling northbound on US Route 13 near Jerome Drive, swerving all over the road. The trooper pulled the car over spoke to the driver, identified as Donnel Eaddy. While troopers spoke to Eaddy, he showed multiple signs of impairment and Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered. After the tests, Eaddy resisted arrest but was ultimately taken into custody after a taser deployment. During an inventory search of the car, troopers found a multi-caliber rifle, magazines, and ammunition.
Eaddy was taken to Troop 9, where he was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of Peace Court 7, and released after posting a $2,650 secured bond.

- Possession of a Firearm/Destructive Weapon if Previously Convicted of a Violent Felony (Felony)
- Driving Under the Influence of a Combination of Alcohol and Any Drug
- Resisting Arrest
- Failure to Remain in a Single Lane
