The Delaware State Police have arrested 22-year-old Larry Bryant, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for a felony assault that occurred on Thursday afternoon in Newark.
On December 4, 2025, at approximately 1:00 p.m., troopers responded to Peoples Plaza in Newark, Delaware, for the report of an assault. When troopers arrived, they learned that a female DART bus driver had been assaulted by a man later identified as Larry Bryant. The investigation showed that the driver was returning to her bus from a nearby business when Bryant began following her, making her feel uncomfortable. The bus driver asked Bryant to stop following her and attempted to dial 911 after Bryant refused. Bryant struck the bus driver in the face before fleeing. The victim was taken to an area hospital for serious injuries.
Through investigative means, troopers located Bryant inside a theater at Regal Cinemas and arrested him without incident. Troopers also found that Bryant did not pay to enter the theater.
Bryant was taken to Troop 2, where he was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 2, and committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $6,000 secured bond.
