Delaware State Police have arrested 31-year-old Cortez Crawford of Wilmington, Delaware, for an armed robbery that occurred earlier this month outside a Dunkin’ in Newark.
On July 5, 2025, at approximately 5:30 p.m., troopers responded to Dunkin’, located at 48 Geoffrey Drive, for a reported robbery. A preliminary investigation revealed that a 32-year-old woman was standing on the sidewalk outside the business when an unknown male suspect approached her, placed a knife to her throat, and demanded her belongings. The victim complied and handed over her purse to the suspect. The suspect then fled on foot. The victim was not physically injured during the incident.
Through investigative means, detectives identified Cortez Crawford as the suspect in the armed robbery and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
On July 15, 2025, Crawford, who was in custody at Howard R. Young Correctional Institution, was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $40,000 cash bond.
