The Delaware State Police arrested 42-year-old Keith Morrison of Georgetown, Delaware, for attempted murder following an incident at a Georgetown residence yesterday morning that left one woman critically injured.

On April 20, 2025, at approximately 2:52 a.m., troopers responded to a residence on the 27000 block of Paradise Street, Georgetown, for a report of a woman in distress. Upon arriving, troopers made contact with a 44-year-old woman suffering from severe burns to a large portion of her body. The victim was transported to an area hospital by EMS, where she remains in critical condition. Due to the nature of the investigation, the Delaware State Police Troop 4 Criminal Investigations Unit, and the Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office assumed the investigation.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim and her boyfriend, identified as 42-year-old Keith Morrison, had an argument in their bedroom. After the argument, Morrison threw an unknown liquid on the victim, and set her on fire. Morrison then fled from the residence on foot in an unknown direction.

During the investigation, troopers located Morrison in a nearby field, and took him into custody without incident. Morrison was taken to Troop 4, where he was charged by Delaware State Police with the crime listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $1,000,000 cash bond. Morrison was also charged by the Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office for the felony offense of Arson 1st Degree.
