Troopers Arrest Dover Woman for Reckless Endangering and DUI

Delaware State Police have arrested 32-year-old Linzy Best of Dover, Delaware, for reckless endangering and DUI following a trespassing incident in Seaford.

On April 16, 2025, at approximately 5:05 p.m., troopers responded to the 24000 block of Chapel Branch Road in Seaford for a report of a car driving through a field. When troopers arrived, they learned that a black Chevrolet Camaro was driving recklessly in a field behind a residence. Three people, including two children, were walking in the field at the time and were nearly hit by the car. While the three victims were running to the safety of the residence, they were nearly hit again. The driver of the Camaro, later identified as Linzy Best, fled from the car after the adult victim took the keys from her and troopers found her a short time later in a nearby shed. When troopers contacted Best, she showed multiple signs of impairment, refused Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, and was ultimately taken into custody after resisting arrest.


Best was taken to Troop 5, where she was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $36,300 cash bond.

  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
  • Reckless Endangering 1st Degree (Felony) – 3 counts
  • Resisting Arrest
  • Criminal Trespass 3rd Degree
  • DUI
  • Driving While Suspended/Revoked
  • Multiple Traffic Offenses
