State Police Investigating Homicide in Seaford

Delaware State Police are investigating a homicide that occurred yesterday at a park in Seaford.

On March 12, 2025, at approximately 4:24 p.m., officers from the Seaford Police Department and Delaware State Police responded to a report of a shooting at Nutter Park, located at 712 Collins Avenue within the city limits of Seaford. When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered a 23-year-old man from Seaford, Delaware, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds and began life saving efforts. The victim was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where he died from his injuries. His identity is being withheld until his family is notified. Two other men, ages, 19 and 21, self-transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. A 23-year-old man also self-transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries related to the shooting.

Due to the nature of the incident, the Seaford Police Department requested the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit to assume the investigation. A preliminary investigation revealed that during a large fight, unidentified suspects fired multiple rounds at the victims.

The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit continues to actively investigate this incident. Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding this case to contact Detective A. Bluto by calling 302-741-2859. Information may also be provided by sending a private Facebook message to the Delaware State Police or contacting Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333.
