The Delaware State Police are investigating a road rage related shots fired incident that occurred Sunday morning in New Castle.
On March 2, 2025, at approximately 9:41 a.m., troopers responded to North Dupont Highway, in the area of Fairview Avenue, New Castle, for a report of shots fired stemming from a road rage incident. The preliminary investigation revealed a BMW SUV was involved in a road rage incident with an unknown sedan. During the incident, the suspect, who was in the front passenger seat, discharged a firearm at the victim. The BMW, and its driver, a 35-year-old Delaware man, were not struck by gunfire. Following the shots fired, the suspect vehicle fled southbound on North Dupont Highway.
The suspect is described as a masked black male wearing dark-colored clothing. There is no additional suspect or suspect vehicle information available at this time.
Troop 2 Criminal Investigations Detectives are still investigating this shooting. Detectives are asking anyone who witnessed or has information regarding this case to contact Detective G.
