Date Posted: Friday, February 28th, 2025

Delaware State Police arrested 19-year-old Blayden Rose of Selbyville, Delaware, for impersonating a police officer following an incident that occurred Wednesday night.

On February 26, 2025, at approximately 8:20 p.m., troopers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Laurel Road near Millsboro Highway. When troopers arrived, they spoke with the victim, a 23-year-old man from Laurel, Delaware. He reported that he had been driving eastbound on Nine Foot Road, east of Laurel Road, when a white Dodge Magnum with Arizona registration pulled behind him and activated flashing red and blue lights. As the victim began to pull over, the Dodge passed him and continued driving.

The victim later observed the vehicle pull into Royal Farms in Dagsboro. He parked at a distance, called 911, and provided the vehicle’s registration number and description, noting tinted windows and a front push bar. Shortly after, the driver of the Dodge pulled up next to the victim and verbally confronted him. The victim did not engage, and the suspect eventually fled the scene.

Through investigative efforts, troopers identified Blayden Rose as the suspect. On February 27, 2025, troopers contacted Rose by phone, and he agreed to come to Troop 4 for questioning.  When Rose arrived, troopers observed red LED lights positioned above the rear windshield of his vehicle. Following the investigation, he was charged with the offenses listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7, and released on his own recognizance.
