Delaware State Police arrested 18-year-old Jyair Freeman of Smyrna, Delaware, and 18-year-old Tizonn Trotter of Elkton, Maryland, following a robbery investigation that occurred Tuesday afternoon.
On February 25, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m., troopers responded to the 20000 block of Lucky Lane in Millsboro for a reported robbery. The victim arranged to sell sweatshirts to this individual and agreed to meet in person.
Shortly afterward, two men arrived at the victim’s residence in a green Kia Soul. The victim got into the vehicle, at which point one of the suspects, later identified as Freeman, pointed a handgun at him and struck him in the head. The victim was able to escape from the car, and the suspects fled the scene with the stolen sweatshirts. The victim sustained minor injuries but did not require hospitalization.
The victim called 911 and provided a description of the suspects and their vehicle. A short time later, troopers located the Kia Soul in the parking lot of a Shell gas station, 24851 John J. Williams Highway in Millsboro. Troopers took Freeman and Trotter into custody without incident. A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded 9mm handgun and the stolen sweatshirts.
