The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit continues to investigate a shooting that occurred in Wilmington on Wednesday that has left a man dead.
On February 19, 2025, at approximately 4:29 p.m., troopers responded to East Lea Boulevard in the area of Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, for a report of a shooting. Upon arriving, troopers found the victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound and began life-saving efforts. The victim, 19-year-old Jamarr Thompson from Wilmington, Delaware, was transported by EMS to an area hospital in critical condition. Due to the circumstances, the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit assumed the investigation.
On February 21, 2025, Thompson died as a result of his injuries from the shooting.
One of the suspects, Darmond Green, remains at Howard R. Young Correctional Institution. Updated charges are pending.
The Homicide Unit continues to investigate this incident. Detectives are asking for anyone with information regarding this case to contact Detective B.
