Delaware State Police are actively investigating a robbery that occurred last night at Food Lion, located at 4401 Governor Printz Boulevard in Wilmington.
On June 16, 2024, at approximately 8:07 p.m., an unidentified suspect, dressed in a black robe that concealed their body, entered the store. During the incident, an employee was transferring money from the cash registers to the safe. While the safe was open, the suspect approached the employee, sprayed them with pepper spray, and took an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the scene on foot. The employee was transported to a nearby hospital and released without any lasting injuries. Video surveillance footage is currently unavailable.
Delaware State Police Troop 2 Robbery Unit continues its investigation and urges anyone who may have witnessed or has relevant information regarding this incident to contact Detective D.
