State Police Detectives Investigating a Robbery and Shots Fired in Newark

The Delaware State Police are investigating a robbery and shots fired that occurred yesterday in Newark.

On June 12, 2024, at approximately 11:31 a.m., troopers responded to a report of shots fired at Salem Village Square Shopping Center. When troopers arrived, they learned that three unknown suspects assaulted and robbed an unknown male victim inside The Smoke Shop, located at 13 Salem Village Square. After the robbery, the suspects fled in a white car and the victim retrieved a gun from his car. The victim fired several shots at the white car as it was leaving the parking lot. The victim fled the scene a short time later. Detectives are working to identify and locate everyone involved.

Troop 2 Robbery Unit continues to investigate this incident. Detectives are asking anyone who witnessed or has information regarding this case to contact Detective D. Armstrong by calling (302) 365-8440. Information may also be provided by sending a private Facebook message to the Delaware State Police or contacting Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333.
