Delaware State Police have identified 16-year-old Zykier Flowers of Wilmington, Delaware, as the victim of a homicide that occurred at the Concord Mall parking lot on May 11, 2024. The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit continues to investigate.
On May 11, 2024, at approximately 10:45 p.m., troopers responded to a shooting at the Concord Mall parking lot, located at 4737 Concord Pike in Wilmington. When troopers arrived, they found two teenagers who had been shot and began life-saving efforts. The victims were transported to an area hospital, where Flowers was pronounced dead. The second victim, a 17-year-old male, was treated at the hospital for serious injuries, and has since been released.
This case remains an active investigation, and Delaware Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 cash reward for information leading to an arrest. Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding this case to contact Detective B. McDerby by calling 302-741-2821 or emailing brian.mcderby@delaware.gov. Information may also be provided by sending a private Facebook message to the Delaware State Police or contacting Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
