Date Posted: Wednesday, August 16th, 2023

The Delaware State Police are investigating a single-vehicle moped crash that occurred yesterday afternoon that left one woman dead.

On August 15, 2023, at approximately 2:23 p.m., a red 2022 Jiangsu moped was traveling north on Hebron Road approaching a sharp left curve just north of Canal Crossing Road. For unknown reasons, the moped driver failed to negotiate the curve, and her scooter exited the right side of the roadway and struck the curb.

The driver, 49-year-old Darla Becker of Wilmington, Delaware, fell off the moped and landed on the curb. She was taken by ambulance to an area hospital where she later died. There were no other vehicles involved in this collision.
