On July 15, 2023, at approximately 10:27 p.m., troopers responded to NY Gyro Grill, located at 3541 Philadelphia Pike, for an armed robbery. The investigation revealed that an unknown black male entered the store wearing a black face mask and displayed a handgun as he demanded money from the employees. After the employees gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money, he fled on foot. The troopers who responded to the incident searched the area for the suspect but were unable to locate him.
There were no reported injuries following the incident. The suspect is described as a black male wearing dark-colored clothing. Surveillance images and video are not available at this time.
The Delaware State Police Troop 2 Robbery Unit is investigating this incident. Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding this case to contact Detective B. Harris by calling 302-365-8410. Information may also be provided by sending a private Facebook message to the Delaware State Police or contacting Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333.
